Annual Koka Ban Bujutsu Training Camp
Murata Shihan welcomes everyone to join for an immersive experience in the traditions of Koka Ban Bujutsu. He is a direct student of Kawakami Soke the 21st head of the Koga Ban family and the last sōke of authentic ninjutsu and Bujutsu.
For those who don’t know much about Bujutsu, it was a fundamental part of samurai training, refers to the traditional martial arts schools of Japan, specializing in close combat and self-defense. These schools aimed to teach the art of protection and mastery of combat techniques, focusing on skills necessary for warfare. Bujutsu included the use of various weapons such as the katana, spear, and bow, as well as hand-to-hand combat techniques. It encompasses martial arts like Kenjutsu, Sojutsu, and Jojutsu, among others. In ancient Japanese society, Bujutsu encompassed both combative and non-combative disciplines, enhancing physical abilities and spiritual knowledge.
